Okay, I am now posting waterfall pics from the Cascade River to go with Stef's earlier posts.  You normally see rivers calm down as they approach something as big and awesome as Lake Superior.  These falls are about 1/2 mile from where the river feeds into the lake.  The water isn't polluted, but is loaded with tannin and the brown water plus the copious foam makes it look like root beer.
