Glimmerglass has History, Terrain with edible wildflowers
though we didn’t partake because that would just be wrong, lots of birds and red
squirrels, those precious chipmunks, deer and
toads we haven’t quite yet id because I forgot my amphibian-reptile book,
the magnificent Lake Otsego, Recreation and BIG campsites in the Shade and Hot
Water in the showers. Let’s talk about
the Quad-Athlon Pat and I accomplished today.
First we hiked up a mountain, ok admittedly probably a really small
mountain, along a trail called “The Sleeping Lion” and we sung “in the
Jungle…the Lion sleeps here…” We dragged our butts back to lunch and Pat, who I
will refer to as Paddy for the rest the wayfarin journey had a power nap and
told me I really need to learn how to accomplish that feat. He blew up the
kayak and we paddled our way to a point and back seeing many small and big
homes along the water. We have two minds about the homes. I will talk about
this later in our journey. The shallow
part of the lake seems to be filled with one exotic aquatic plant and maybe
another? Not sure, my limnology days are
so far behind me. We got back from
kayaking and decided to bike on our tandem to the swimming area. Paddy swam out to the far line, it probably
came up to his navel (he looked a little like a baby Beluga because he was so
white.) Then I won that part of the race because I knew what to touch at the
finish line. We jumped back on the
tandem and went through Beaver Pond trail and didn’t see any beaver…History is
coming. Think I will try that power
nap.
Magnificient!
