Today is July 7 and we are here at Rabbit Blanket in Canada’s Lake Superior PP after 6 hours plus driving on mountains in the rain. We missed the Pictographs at Agawa Rock ,a sacred site to the Ojibwe , due to the lateness and rain. But have the most beautiful campsite on this Good Earth with rather cold weather and rain in the forecast which is good (we need the rest), but unfortunately we still cannot figure out how to sink my photos in my PC. Paddy and I both tried with Toby’s explicit instructions. And there is no cell service so they can’t get to the “cloud” (whatever that is?) and we can’t post them anyway until the next “hotspot”.
Pat and I have killed so many mosquitoes today that if there was a Guinness World Book record for this event we think we could have placed.  People wear netting over their faces and body. Pat wrote pages about as he is obsessed about killing them all, but doesn’t want to post it?? I thought it was pretty funny.
Which brings me to the next flow of consciousness. I talked to many people recently about why Paddy and are doing this. And it is about disconnecting, reconnecting, decompressing and SEARCHING.  I am finding it hard to not to be busy, hopefully that will change or it’s the looney bin for me.
July 8..Speaking of loons, there were two on the Rabbit Blanket flying away from us as we tried to get close ups.  Rabbit blanket is a small lake easily paddled across and around in an hour.  We ate out on the water in the kayak to avoid the mosquitoes and were lucky to photograph a bull moose across the road.  Pat encountered a grouse on his way back from the showers.  We really needed hot full showers so we were a little gluttonous. Eliza sits in the front window of the RV watching the little chipmunks scamper in the campsite. She must be rather frustrated.
We are taking off for Ney PP early tomorrow am hoping to find a hotspot on the way.  Pat might have to resort to old fashion land phone for business and we are thinking of investing in a satellite dish and pay when we can get service. They tell us WiFi is iffy up here as well. I can’t imagine what people do in the dark of winter, ice fish and ski?
