More about Logging Museum

With the invention of the steam engine, logging was no longer dependent on man and horse, however the new inventions were named after animals like the Dolbeer Donkey (see photos below), which were steam engines with winches attached. These engines were used to haul logs out of the forest and place the loads onto wagons and then train.  The first "Caterpillar" was steam run.This outdoor museum captivated us as much as watching for whales. The Donkey

This machine called the box was used for 40 years.

This was one of the sleds pulled by horses through the snow.
